As a long-time friend and colleague of Dr. Fetzer, Dr. Anna was excited for the opportunity to partner with and take on the role as practice owner to give Cynthia the ability to retire and Camden Pet Hospital the chance to continue to grow and thrive. Dr. Anna has lived in the area for 15+ years, most of which she owned and operated a veterinary practice in the far southwest metro. She was excited for the chance to work close to home in a wonderful community and begin the next chapter with Camden Pet Hospital.
Dr. Anna is excited to work with all the long-term and new pet owners that come to Camden Pet Hospital. She has a particular interest in preventative medicine and long-term health of her patients, thus she particularly enjoys dentistry, nutrition and behavioral veterinary medicine. Dr. Anna also strongly believes in the importance of veterinarians giving back to the community and she is looking forward to getting more involved with the Camden community by hosting free client education seminars and children’s animal welfare and dog bite prevention workshops.
Dr. Anna graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and a Masters of Public Health. She joined the team at Camden in 2020 and she has a commitment to patient care, client communication, and education. She loves to teach and feels that good client education serves as a foundation for an excellent standard of practice here at Camden Dr. Anna is active as a leader in organized veterinary medicine and veterinary education. She is a past President of the MN College of Veterinary Medicine Alumni and Friends Society, a past director on the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA) board, as well as a past executive board member on the Veterinary Hospital Association (VHA) board. During her time as a student, she was the President of the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association (SCAVMA). She also organized and participated in many international and domestic veterinary service trips in places like rural Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Native American reservations in the Midwest and South West. focus on education and compassionate care with longer than average appointments so clients have time to ask questions and understand the ‘what’ and ‘why’ regarding their pet’s care. Veterinary care can be expensive, and Dr. Anna wants to make sure clients understand where every cent is prioritized for the best health and wellbeing of the animal. She and the rest of the team work hard to go about care in a step-wise approach to ensure we get the best solutions for each individual pet and their family situation.
In her spare time Dr. Anna enjoys gardening, outdoor sports and recreation and spending time at home with her family including her partner Wes, her dog Nica and her two cats, Bailey and Juniper.
